Refund Policy
How a refund is handled for a MindFlip purchase depends on where you bought it. The App Store, Google Play, and Stripe (web) each operate the payment, and refund requests for those purchases must go through the corresponding platform. This policy explains the path for each, and outlines our discretionary refund practices for cases the platform's standard policy does not cover.
1. App Store (iOS) Purchases
Apple operates the payment for all iOS purchases (subscriptions, power-up bundles, credit packs, cosmetics). Apple's standard refund policy applies. To request a refund:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Find the MindFlip purchase, choose "Request a refund", select a reason, and submit.
Apple typically responds within 24 to 48 hours. We are not able to issue iOS refunds ourselves: Apple controls the payment.
2. Google Play (Android) Purchases
Google operates the payment for all Android purchases. Google Play's standard refund policy applies. To request a refund:
- Open the Google Play Store on the device used for the purchase, or visit play.google.com.
- Go to "Account" -- "Order history".
- Find the MindFlip purchase, tap "Report a problem", choose a reason, and submit.
Google Play offers an automatic refund for any purchase requested within 48 hours of the original purchase. After 48 hours, refunds are at Google's discretion. If Google declines a refund and you believe the situation merits one, contact us at support@mindflipgame.app and we will review and may issue a credit or escalate to Google on your behalf.
3. Web (Stripe) Purchases
3.1 European Union and United Kingdom Consumers
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital-services purchase within 14 days of purchase, unless you have already consumed the digital content. By starting to play with credits, power-ups, or a subscription before the 14 days are up, you waive the right to withdraw for the consumed portion. Subscriptions can still be cancelled; the unused portion of an annual subscription, for example, is refundable on a pro-rata basis within the 14-day window if cancelled before the next renewal.
3.2 All Other Web Customers
For web purchases outside the EU/UK, refunds are at our discretion. We generally grant refunds for:
- Subscription renewals you did not intend, where you cancel within 14 days of the renewal charge and have not significantly used the renewed period.
- Duplicate or accidental purchases reported within 14 days.
- Service failures preventing you from using a feature you paid for.
We do not generally grant refunds for:
- Consumables (power-ups, credits) that have already been used.
- Cosmetic items already applied or used.
- Subscription periods more than 14 days into the term, unless required by applicable consumer-protection law.
- Buyer's remorse beyond the 14-day window.
3.3 How to Request a Web Refund
Email support@mindflipgame.app with:
- The email address used to make the purchase.
- The approximate purchase date and amount.
- The reason for the refund request.
We aim to respond within 5 business days. If approved, refunds are processed via Stripe to the original payment method and typically arrive within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
4. Subscription Cancellation Without Refund
You can stop a subscription from auto-renewing at any time. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancellation alone is not a refund of the current period -- see sections 1 to 3 for refund eligibility for each platform.
Cancel via:
- iOS: Settings -- [your name] -- Subscriptions -- MindFlip
- Android: Google Play Store -- Menu -- Subscriptions -- MindFlip
- Web (Stripe): customer portal link in your in-app account settings, or email us
5. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute through your bank or card issuer without first contacting us, we may suspend your account pending resolution. Please reach out to us first at support@mindflipgame.app; we are usually able to resolve issues faster than a dispute can.
6. Account Deletion
Deleting your account removes your personal information per our Privacy Policy but does not automatically refund any unused subscription period or unused consumables. Submit a refund request before deleting your account if you would like one considered.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Refund requests are evaluated under the policy in effect on the date of the original purchase, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
